Israel Birthright called Taglit in Hebrew is a program in partnership of the Israeli Government and many North American Jewish Organizations and on the other hand the Jewish Agency for Israel and Keren Hayesod, with funding from many Jewish philanthropists.
One of the Taglit Groups with Golan Heights on the Background
The idea is to invite Jewish young adults ages 18 to 26 on an educational trip to Israel. The program was created with the idea of sending tens of thousands of young adults from all over the world to Israel in order to try and narrow th growing division between Israel and the Jewish communities in the Diaspora.
The trip covers round trip airfare from many designated cities to Israel, hotel accommodation, most meals and all tours during the common 10 day itinerary of touring Israel. Tips and extra expenses are not included.Click here to Share your Story

Our participants are from 52 countries, including the United States, Canada, Cuba, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, South Africa, France, Switzerland, Germany, England, the Former Soviet Union, India, New Zealand, Australia, and more. Israel Birthright – Taglit Birthright uses many approved tour operators to organize such tours but they are all supervised by Home Office and they all offer the same quality of tours and accommodations.
In other words Taglit- Israel Birthright is the Umbrella for those individual trip organizers. In case a group of friends want to do the trip together it is recommended they all go through the same tour operator.
Israel Birthright does not guarantee these kinds of things.
